State is a stronger organizing principle.
Most SaaS products are still arranged like websites: a series of destinations the user must remember and revisit. State-based software flips that model. Instead of asking people where to go next, the system brings the current condition forward and makes change visible in context.
Pages separate information. State connects it.
A page is good at containing information, but weak at expressing what changed, why it matters, and what should happen next. Stateful interfaces expose live conditions, relationships, dependencies, and confidence. That makes products feel less like filing cabinets and more like operating surfaces.
